Visited the Rafael Lozano-Hemmer ‘Recorder’s exhibition today at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney at Circular Quay.
‘His works depend on the participation of visitors to exist. The artist invites you to leave traces of yourself, whether it is objects from your pockets, questions you have typed, the pace of your heart beat, your fingerprint, voice or image.’ (Extract from programme guide available at the exhibition.)
It was definitely a very interesting and thought provoking instalment. The art changes and is influenced by it’s audience which always sparks interest. Even if you aren’t an art person.
Unfortunately today was the last day the exhibit was shown in Sydney but if it’s in your city I highly recommend you pay a visit to check it out. Entry should be free as it was at the MCA.
